Proposed Section 38 traffic calming measures at junctions off Circular Road and Carmody Street

Notice is hereby given that Clare County Council, pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, propose to install the following traffic calming measures:

Circular Road, Hermitage, Carmody Street and Summerhill, Ennis, Co. Clare

Construction of raised courtesy crossings at the following junctions:

  1. Circular Road – Ard na Gaoithe
  2. Circular Road – Hermitage
  3. Circular Road – Cloughleigh Roundabout
  4. Circular Road – Honan’s Terrace
  5. Carmody Street – Summerhill
  6. Carmody Street – Buttermarket

Associated works shall include alterations to footpaths, installation of new kerbs, raised crossings and tactile paving together with all associated signs & road markings and road reinstatement thereafter.

Plans and particulars for the proposed development is attached below and will be available until 29th April 2024.

Submissions and observations in relation to the proposals may be made by email to roads@clarecoco.ie or in writing to the Administrative Officer, Transportation Department, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare before 4:00 p.m. on Monday 29th April 2024.
