Parking permits

Parking permits apply at Ennis, Ennistymon, Kilrush, Lahinch, Miltown Malbay and O'Curry Street in Kilkee. Parking permits will be valid only for the particular car park/on-street parking zone detailed on the permit and no other on-street zone or car park area.

Disabled parking permits

The Disabled Drivers Association (www.ddai.ie) and the Irish Wheelchair Association (www.iwa.ie) issue Disabled Parking Permits.

They grant permits to people with certain disabilities.

A valid and in-date disabled parking permit allows the owner of the permit to park for free, regardless of who is driving them, in public car parking spaces that display the Disabled Driver's Logo.

Permits are issued for a 2-year period.

Resident parking permit

Resident parking permits apply at Ennis, Ennistymon, Kilrush, Lahinch, Miltown Malbay and O'Curry Street in Kilkee.  Resident parking permits will be valid only for the particular car park/on-street parking zone detailed on the permit and no other on-street zone or car park area. Parking in an area not specified on the permit will result in the issue of a parking fine for which there is no appeal system.

Commercial parking permit

Clare County Council issues a maximum of 2 parking permits per business in Ennis and 1 parking permit per business in Kilrush on an annual basis and the fees are:

Ennis

  • €500 for on-street parking excluding 1 hour zones
  • €500 for all car parks
  • €300 for 4 hour on-street parking zones (at College Road, Mill Road,Drumbiggle Road) and long stay car parks (Glór Car Park and Cloughleigh Car Park)
  • €100 for Cloughleigh Car Park

Kilrush

  • €30 for all parking locations
