The newly upgraded Kilkee Fire Station was officially opened on Wednesday, 29th September, by the Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr PJ Ryan. Clare County Council and Tipperary County Council have announced that a public consultation webinar on the Draft Killaloe-Ballina Town Enhancement and Mobility Plan will be held on Wednesday, 21st July, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The webinar is open to everyone and will give an overview of the Draft Plan. Clare County Council has been working closely with Fáilte Ireland and colleagues in Tipperary and Galway County Councils on a new visitor experience for the Lough Derg region, which will run throughout summer and autumn 2021 called ‘Adventure Lough Derg’. Councillor Joe Cooney has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Killaloe Municipal District at its Annual General Meeting, held on 24th June, 2021.
The development of a landmark tourism project in East Clare has taken a significant step forward with the announcement of plans for a proposed new Inis Cealtra (Holy Island) visitor centre in the heart of Mountshannon village. Clare County Council and consultants have signed a contract for the design of the Inis Cealtra (Holy Island) Visitor Experience. Members of the local community are being invited to participate in the development of a Town Enhancement and Mobility Plan for Killaloe-Ballina.
Cllr Pat Hayes was elected Cathaoirleach of Killaloe Municipal District at its AGM on June 29th, 2020.
Clare County Council, in conjunction with Tipperary County Council, has commenced the preparation of a Town Enhancement, Tourism and Mobility Plan for Killaloe-Ballina.
