Proposed temporary road closure R477 Lisnanard Ballyvaughan

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 of Clare County Council’s intention to close the road detailed hereunder for the period stated to facilitate laying of new sewer mains.

Road to be closed:
Approx 280m of R477 at Lisnanard, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare with works commencing approximately 700m from the N67/R477 junction in Ballyvaughan village.

Date and time of closure:
From 08:00 am on Monday 21 October 2024 to 18:00 on Friday 14 March 2025.

Alternative routes / diversions:
Safe pedestrian access will be provided along the closed section of R477. All vehicles will not be able to transit from Cliffs of Moher and Doolin via Ballinalacken Castle, Fanore and Black Head along R477 to Ballyvaughan and will have to transit via Lisdoonvarna – and vice-versa for the opposite direction.  A diversion route map is attached below.
