A series of initiatives aimed at boosting festive shopping trade in Ennis commences this Thursday with the annual switching on of the Christmas lights, a six-week suspension of work on the Ennis Public Realm Enhancement Scheme and the provision of free parking throughout the town.

Ennis Municipal District invites individuals, groups, clubs and societies from across Clare to participate in the 2024 Ennis St. Patrick's Day parade. We would love for our regular participants to showcase their talents again this year and would really encourage new groups and individuals to submit an entry and get in on the fun. We are looking for vibrancy and would strongly encourage floats that are artistic and interactive, hence the prize for ‘best visual spectacle’ this year has been increased to €500.

ECONNECTING is an international network of cities financed by the European URBACT IV program which aims to develop new sustainable mobility strategies between urban and rural areas, putting the environmental and social sustainability of transport at the centre.

Works on the second phase of the Ennis Public Realm Regeneration Project are set to get underway this autumn.

The Ennis Municipal District office of Clare County Council has signed a contract with SYSTRA Ltd for the delivery of the Ennis Area Based Transport Assessment and Local Transport Plan.

An Official Welcome reception was held at Áras Contae an Chláir last evening to celebrate key landmark anniversaries of twinning relationships between Ennis and Langenfeld in Germany and the US city of Phoenix.

In preparation for the development of a Local Area Plan for Ennis, Clare County Council is engaging with the wider community as part of the Ennis Mobility Plan, which will examine all modes of transport for the sustainable movement of people within Ennis and its environs.

The new dressing room facilities at Active Ennis Tim Smythe Park were officially opened on Tuesday, 5th October, by the Mayor of Ennis Municipal District, Cllr Ann Norton.

Ennis in County Clare has been launched as an Age Friendly Town at an event held in the garden of the Old Ground Hotel on Friday, 27th August, 2021.

Ennis Municipal District Councillors today agreed to allocate a further €8,000 from their general municipal allocation (GMA) towards the painting, gutter cleaning and repair scheme, to properties which connect to the Ennis public realm works on Parnell Street.
