Public Consultation West Clare Railway Greenway between Kilrush and Kilkee

Clare County Council is beginning to progress the Route Selection for Section 1 of the West Clare Railway Greenway between Kilrush and Kilkee. 

The purpose of this public consultation is to invite submissions from the public and interested stakeholders regarding the initial route options.  This information will be used by the design team to further refine the route options with a view to minimising, where possible, the impacts of the project on the surrounding environment and communities. Following this, a detailed appraisal of the options will be undertaken, and the preferred route option will be identified.

Due to discolouration of the water caused by increased Manganese, the Health Service Executive (Mid West Area) have issued a Do Not Consume Notice with immediate effect.

Swimming prohibition lifted at White Strand Miltown Malbay

25 August 2021

The temporary prohibition on swimming that had been in place at White Strand Miltown Malbay has been lifted with immediate effect.

The prohibition on swimming has been lifted following analysis and on the advice of the HSE, with the water quality deemed to be excellent.

Clare County Council advises that the safest place to swim is at lifeguarded locations.

Notice of variation to the basic rate of Local Property Tax

15 July 2021

In pursuance of the provisions of section 20 of the FINANCE (LOCAL PROPERTY TAX) ACT 2012 (as amended) at a meeting of Clare County Council on 12th July 2021 a resolution was passed to the effect that the basic rate of local property tax should stand varied upwards by 15 per cent for the year 2022 in respect of relevant residential properties situated in the local authority’s administrative area.
