Status Orange wind warning for Clare

Clare County Council has issued a weather warning in advance of forecasted Orange level winds in County Clare.

Ennis Christmas Parking and Pedestrianisation

The Ennis Christmas Market takes place in Abbey Street Car Park from 2nd to 5th December inclusive. As a result, the west of the main through road (adjacent to the river between Costa Coffee and O’Briens) will be unavailable from 6:00pm this evening (30th November) until 8:00am on Monday (6th December). Abbey Street Car Park will be unavailable during these times. Christmas parking arrangements and alternative parking locations are listed below.

Clare County Council is progressing the development of the N19 Shannon Airport Access Road Improvement Scheme in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the Department of Transport. Fehily Timoney and Clandillon Civil Consulting Joint Venture are the appointed Technical Advisors to advance the project through the planning and design stages.

Clare County Council is currently preparing a Summary Social Housing Needs Assessment 2021 in accordance with Section 21 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009.

Public Consultation West Clare Railway Greenway between Kilrush and Kilkee

Clare County Council is beginning to progress the Route Selection for Section 1 of the West Clare Railway Greenway between Kilrush and Kilkee. 

The purpose of this public consultation is to invite submissions from the public and interested stakeholders regarding the initial route options.  This information will be used by the design team to further refine the route options with a view to minimising, where possible, the impacts of the project on the surrounding environment and communities. Following this, a detailed appraisal of the options will be undertaken, and the preferred route option will be identified.
