Public Participation: Identification of Bathing Waters

Local authorities must identify official bathing areas in their area every year so that they can be monitored for safety, water quality and their level of use.  To help with this process, Clare County Council are asking people who swim at beaches, lakes and rivers to tell them if they think they should maintain existing designated bathing waters designations or give a new official bathing area designation to areas that are commonly used for swimming, but not identified at the moment.

New page opens for Clare County Library project

The contract for the construction of the new County Library at the Causeway Link adjacent to glór in Ennis was signed on Friday, 22nd April, in the Council Chamber at Áras Contae an Chláir by Patrick Gardiner of Coolsivna and Chief Executive of Clare County Council, Pat Dowling, in the presence of the Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr PJ Ryan.

Irish Water to begin mains rehab works ahead of public realm enhancement project

In advance of the Public Realm project, Shareridge Engineering will be commencing works in Ennis town centre from May 16th, 2022, and continuing on a phased basis until early September 2022.  These works are being carried out on behalf of Irish Water and will involve the replacement of aged watermains at High Street, Bank Place, O’Connell Square and O’Connell Street, to provide a more reliable water supply, reduce high levels of leakage and improve water quality.  Additionally, new electrical cabling infrastructure will be installed throughout the town centre at the same time.
