Clare County Council has welcomed the announcement of funding of more than €386,000 under Category 1 of the Community Centre Investment Fund (CCIF) to support 17 groups in County Clare to carry out refurbishments and improvements of their local community facility.

More than 40 tourism representatives from all over the island of Ireland have travelled to Clare this week to explore tourism projects that act as an engine of economic and social progress for rural communities.

Around 150 people attended an event in the Woodstock Hotel in Ennis, County Clare, on Monday, 3rd October, during Positive Ageing Week, to celebrate with the 13 people nominated for the Clare Older People’s Volunteer of the Year Award 2022. The function was hosted by the Clare Older People’s Council and supported by Clare County Council.

Illaunmanagh Burial Ground in Shannon, County Clare, has been extended with the addition of approximately 600 additional grave spaces.
