Declaration of Public Roads under Section 11 Roads Act, 1993.  

In accordance with the provision of the Roads Act, 1993 Clare County Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE of its intention to consider the making of a Declaration that the roads listed hereunder be public roads.

Shannon airport access road

The said roads are depicted on a map which can be inspected during office hours, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Planning Department, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare. Clare County Council proposes to take in charge roads and pursuant to the provision of Section 180(4) of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, where an Order under Section 11 has been made, the Council proposes to then take in charge the services and public open spaces within the area outlined in red as shown on the maps, excluding private areas.

1. Cahircalla Beg

Municipal District Ennis

Total length of road to be taken over 157 metres of roadway.

Description of road

Road from its junction with the Public Road (L-8356), to the terminal point within the estate, serving houses 1 to 5 in Silvergrove (Phase 2), Cahircalla Beg, Ennis, Co. Clare.Road coloured yellow on Map No. 2021-1064.

2.Cappaduff

Municipal District Killaloe

Total length of road to be taken over 74 metres of footpath.

Description of road

Footpath fronting houses 1 to 7 in School Lane, Mountshannon, Co. Clare. (This development is serviced by R352).  Footpath coloured yellow on Map No. 2021-1063.

3. Carrownakilly & Newmarket

Municipal District Shannon

Total length of road to be taken over 312 metres of roadway.

Description of road

Road from its junction with the Public Road (L-7249), to all terminal points within the estate, serving houses 62 to 92 in Gleann Cora (Phase 2), Newmarket on Fergus, Co. Clare. Road coloured yellow on Map No. 2021-1062.

Developments served by public water/wastewater infrastructure will be subject to consultation with Irish Water as part of the statutory process.

Maps showing these roads may be inspected between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday in the Planning Department, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare or may be downloaded below under maps.

Objections or representations with regard to the declaration may be made in writing and must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday 22nd October 2021 to the:
