Funding for creative events for children and young people

Clare County Council is seeking proposals of events for children and young people during Cruinniú na nÓg on June 15th, a national day of celebrating and encouraging children and young people to take part in cultural and creative events around Ireland.

With the emphasis on participation and trying new things, Clare County Council is calling on artists of all disciplines, including craft workers, dancers, storytellers, theatre makers, street artists and musicians, to make proposals for events that emphasise Creative Participation by children and young people. The Local Authority is also interested in hearing from heritage workers, re-enactors, coders and workers in science and technology and creative professionals in any artform.

Traditional skills practitioners or others with an expertise in landscape, flora & fauna/biodiversity, folklife, archaeological heritage, built heritage, history, vernacular architecture or any related field are also encouraged to consider how they might engage with Cruinniú na nÓg and its aim of doing, making, creating.

A total fund of €4,000 is available to cover the cost of selected events and event proposers, which may include any practitioner, venue, organisation or community group.  Funding allocated will go towards the payment of fees for artists and creative practitioners and materials required to participate. Proposals selected will reflect a variety of creative experiences and venues countywide.

Proposals should include an outline of costs and CVs of people delivering the events. Successful applicants will need to provide a copy of their Child Protection Policy and will be Garda Vetted. The deadline for receipt of proposals is Friday, 29 March 29 at 4.00pm and all successful applicants will be advised in early April.
