Further to being noted at Cabinet Meeting today, 29th June, 2021, Clare County Council has engaged with Shannon Group to commence a due diligence process to consider the potential transfer by Shannon Group PLC of Shannon Heritage (Clare-based visitor attractions) to Clare County Council as a subsidiary company.

Councillor PJ Ryan has been elected Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council at its Annual General Meeting, held on Friday, 25th June, 2021.

Councillor John Crowe has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District at its Annual General Meeting, held on Friday, 18th June, 2021.

Councillor Joe Cooney has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Killaloe Municipal District at its Annual General Meeting, held on 24th June, 2021.

Councillor Ann Norton has been elected Mayor of Ennis Municipal District (MD) at its Annual General Meeting, held in Áras Contae an Chláir, on 11th June, 2021.

Cllr Cillian Murphy was elected as Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District on 23rd June, 2021.

Cllr Shane Talty was elected as Leas Cathaoirleach.

Ennis Municipal District Councillors today agreed to allocate a further €8,000 from their general municipal allocation (GMA) towards the painting, gutter cleaning and repair scheme, to properties which connect to the Ennis public realm works on Parnell Street. 

The new Clare Civil Defence headquarters was officially opened yesterday (8th June, 2021) by Minister Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Defence and Minister for Foreign Affairs.
