Heritage Week events will showcase Clare’s natural, built and cultural heritage

Clare County Council is delighted to announce that a wealth of events are taking place in Clare during National Heritage Week 2022, with more than 70 events registered by heritage groups throughout the county to date. Heritage Week takes place from Saturday, 13th August, to Sunday, 21st August, 2022, and has become one of Ireland’s largest cultural events.

Cathaoirleach welcomes funding for outdoor projects

The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr Tony O’Brien, has welcomed the announcement of funding of €171k for seven outdoor amenity projects in County Clare.

The projects were included in a recent funding announcement (3rd August, 2022) by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, of almost €6 million to develop 200 outdoor adventure projects across rural Ireland.

Clare Museum maintains top national award from Heritage Council

Thirteen museums were celebrated at a ceremony in Kilkenny Castle on Wednesday, 13th July, having achieved official accreditation under the Heritage Council’s Museum Standards Programme for Ireland (MSPI). Established to promote professional standards in museums, selection under the MSPI is a major accolade with accredited museums considered to have attained excellence across a range of areas.
