Clare County Library has announced the awarding of two grants from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Ahead of Halloween this year, Clare County Council is advising members of the public not to take part in any activities that are contrary to public health guidelines or measures under Level 5 of the Government’s Covid-19 plan, such as bonfire gatherings. Given the current high level of risk associated with Covid-19, children and families should not move between houses to trick-or-treat in the way that traditionally happens at Halloween.

‘Heritage Heroes’ from across Ireland were celebrated at the National Heritage Awards 2020 today (20th October, 2020), with Clarecastle and Ballyea Heritage and Wildlife Group receiving the Clare County Heritage Week Award 2020 for its project, “Clarecastle on film in the 1950s.” Projects from County Clare also received recognition at the Awards as runners-up in two categories.
Clare County Council, in partnership with Shannon Heritage, Shannon Group and Fáilte Ireland, has developed a 10-year Clare Tourism Strategy titled Guiding our Journey to a Vibrant New Future in Tourism.
Clare County Library will host a Decade of Centenaries History Week from 19th to 23rd October. The year 1920 was a momentous one in the county and the History Week programme will endeavour to examine the events and people of the period.

Clare Museum has received grant funding of €10,200 from the Heritage Council and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to increase community access to its collection and activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
