Section 38 - Proposed traffic calming measures at Strand Line, Kilkee

Notice is hereby given that Clare County Council, pursuant of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, propose to install the following traffic calming measures:

L-2021-0 Strand Line, Kilkee, Co. Clare

Construction of 3 zebra controlled pedestrian crossings.

Construction works will include –

  • footpath build out,
  • dished kerbing,
  • red tactile paving on footpath approaches,
  • erecting belisha beacons with integral fitted street lights,
  • erecting bollards,
  • installing high friction surfacing on road approaches;
  • installing new signage in accordance with the Traffic Signs Manual,
  • new road layout lining in accordance with the Traffic Signs Manual.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme as shown on the drawing entitled “Kilkee Pedestrian Crossings No 1 (Strand Line)” are available for inspection at the following offices, during office hours 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from Friday 9th October 2020 (please note curtailed opening hours due to COVID-19 pandemic).

  • West Clare Municipal District Office of Clare County Council, Kilrush, Co. Clare

Objections or representations in relation to the proposals may be made in writing to: Administrative Officer, Roads & Transportation Department, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare before 4:00 p.m. on Monday 9th November 2020.
