Proposed traffic calming measures - Aughanteeroe Bridge/Gort Road, (R458)

Notice is hereby given that Clare County Council, pursuant to Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, propose to install the following Traffic Calming Measures:

Proposed “PUFFIN” Pedestrian Crossing at Aughanteeroe Bridge / Gort Road (R458), Ennis, County Clare.

The works shall involve -

  • Installation of new 4m wide “PUFFIN” Pedestrian Crossing .
  • Provision of Push Button operated Traffic signal heads with pedestrian and vehicular detection.
  • Provision of Refuge Islands.
  • Provision of all associated signage and road markings.
  • Provision of new ESB connection and associated works.
  • Removal of 1 No Tree for sightlines.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme as shown on drawing numbers MDE-20-044-01 and MDE-20-044-02 are attached below and will be available until Monday 21st December 2020.

Objections or representations in relation to the proposals may be made in writing to Administrative Officer, Clare County Council, Roads and Transportation Department, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare before 4:00 p.m. on Monday 21st December 2020.
