Proposed temporary road closure to facilitate a new watermain on behalf of Irish Water - L2098-8, L2098, L2092

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 of Clare County Council’s intention to close the roads detailed hereunder for the period stated to facilitate the installation of a watermain on behalf of Irish Water.

Roads to be closed:  

Phase 1
L2098-8 (Carrowlagan), from its junction with the L2100- proceeding northwestwards for 241 meters to the junction with L2094-0 in the townland of Carrowlagan.  

Phase 2
L2098 (Carrowlagan) from its junction with the L2094-0 proceeding northwards for 2.7Km   through the townlands of Carrowlagan, Ballymackea Beg, Ballymackea More and Quilty East to the junction with the L2092.

Phase 3
L2092 from its junction with the L2106 southwards to its junction with the L2104 in the townlands of Knockloskeraus, Carrowduff and Annagh. (Approx. 1,765m)

Date and time of closures (24 hour closures): 
Phase 1
22ndFeb 2021 – 8th March 2021
Phase 2 9th March 2021 – 4th May 2021
Phase 3 5th May 2021 – 16th June 2021
Local access maintained at all times.

Alternative routes /diversions;

Phase 1
Approaching from the South divert southwestwards along the L2100-0 and the L6210-0 to the N67 junction, proceed northward on the N67 to the L2094 junction with the N67, continue along the L2094-0 to the junction with the L2098, through the Townlands of Carrowlagan, Dereen, Cloghanatinna, Finnor Beg, Cloonadrum, Shandrum, Finnore More and Carrowlagan. Vice versa if approaching from the North

Phase 2
If approaching from the South on the L2098, divert onto the L2094-0 to the N67 junction, proceed northwards along the N67 to the L2092 junction and then proceed on the L2092 to its junction with the L2098, through the townlands of Carrowlagan, Finnor More, Shandrum, Tromra East, Quilty West and Quilty East. Vice versa if approaching from the North.

Phase 3
Approaching from the North proceed westwards along the L2106 road to the N67 Junction through the townlands of Knockloskeraus and Annagh, proceed south on the N67 to the L2104 junction, continue along the L2104 to the junction with the L2092. Vice versa if approaching from the South.
