Proposed Temporary Closing of Road - R466 at O'Briensbridge

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 of Clare County Council’s intention to close the road detailed hereunder for the period stated to facilitate the laying of ducting across the bridge to service new traffic lights being installed as part of a new one-way traffic system.  

Road to be closed:

R466 at O’Briensbridge

Alternative routes / diversions:

Diversion for those travelling south from Clare to Limerick: Travel north on R463 from the junction with the R466 for 8km to Killaloe, turn right over the bridge at Killaloe, turn right onto the R494, travel south along the R494 for 5km to Birdhill, turn right and travel south west along the R466 for 5km. End of diversion

Diversion for those travelling north from Limerick to Clare: Travel north east along the R466 for 5km from the junction with the R525 to Birdhill, turn left onto the R494, travel for 5km along the R494 to Ballina, turn left over the bridge, turn left onto the R463 and travel south west for 8km. End of diversion

Dates and time of closure:

For a period of 5 nights from 10:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m. between Monday, 8th October and Friday, 12th October.

Observations / representations may be made in writing before  4:00 p.m. on Friday, 21st September, 2018 to the:
