Seachtain na Gaeilge
Established by Conradh na Gaeilge in 1902, Seachtain na Gaeilge is the biggest international Irish-language festival promoting the use of Irish language and culture, both at home and abroad, and there will be events organised nationally and locally across the globe for the year's festival running March 1st to 17th.
Such is the popularity of Seachtain na Gaeilge, in County Clare, the numbers of events hosted have been some of the highest in the country. The wide variety of events have included workshops on writing (Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuith, Liam Ó Muirthile and Ré Ó Laighléis, Pádraig MacFheargusa); printing (Ceara Conway); environmental matters (Éanna Ní Lamhna); prose re (Maidhc Dainín Ó Sé); Singing (Deirdre Griffin); Dance (Sorcha Ní Chéide); Puppet shows with Branar Theatre, theatre performances with Brionglóid; music performances from Kíla, Bréag, Ceoltóirí na Mainistreach and Bóthar Nua, street céilithe and shop window treasure hunts to name but a few.
