Clean-up of Illegal Dump Grant

The purpose of the clean-up of illegal dump grant is to allow Clare County Council to contribute financially to local groups such as residents associations, action groups, small tidy village groups, etc. who wish to carry out necessary works in order to clean-up illegal dumps.

Aim of grant

The grant must be used for the purpose of purchasing gloves, sacks, etc. and providing transport for the removal and proper disposal of the rubbish to a permitted or licensed facility. This grant cannot be used for sowing flowers or shrubs, or providing pots for same.

Criteria for grant

Before giving a grant for any project, Clare County Council must be satisfied that the applicant is a bona fide group, representative of the area to which the application relates.

Amount of grant

The maximum grant payable is dependent on the budget and number of successful applications received.

Original receipts, addressed to the group, marked paid for approved items equal to, or in excess of the grant amount shall be submitted to Clare County Council before the 29th September. An individual member nominated by the group shall be responsible for such submission. (Statements of expenditure are not acceptable).

All receipts submitted must relate to the current year.

Closing date for grant

Closing date for receipt of application form is 31st March.
