P19/365 - Application by Shannon Heritage DAC. 

Notice is hereby given pursuant of Part II, Amendment of Miscellaneous Enactments of S.I. No. 352 of EC (Public Participation) Regulations 2010Section 34(1A) of the Planning Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Section 172(1) of the Planning Development Act 2000 (as amended),that planning reference number P19/365 was required to have been accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report.

The application by Shannon Heritage DAC was for a 10-year planning permission for the following works to the existing theme park and all associated landscaping and site development works at Bunratty Folk Park. The proposed works to the theme park will consist of; 1) The partial demolition of the education building and the demolition of the single story café extension; 2) The construction of a new experience building and an extension to the existing café; 3) Modifications to rear façade of the Welcome Building to provide a new Park exit; 4) New directional signage and gateways within the Park; 5) Modifications to the car park including the removal of the existing canopy, a revised layout of the existing car park, extension of the car park, the provision of 10 no. motor home spaces, bicycle spaces, improvements to the pedestrian crossing and new vehicle entrance; 6) The erection of 4 no. sculptures including a new sculpture at the entrance to the Park; 7) Restoration works to Bunratty House ( Protected Structure, RPS No. 078), the construction of a butterfly house within the existing walled garden and the partial removal and reconstruction of the existing boundary wall to provide access during construction; 8) Works to and within the curtilage of Bunratty Castle ( Protected Structure, RPS No. 260). The external works will consist of; (a) the installation of banners and a glazed graphic panel at the battlements, (b) a new pedestrian link, (c) the erection of a new medieval style tent, and (d) the erection of flagpoles, 9) The erection of road side signage; and 10) the construction of a playground, boardwalk and picnic area. The proposed development consists of the carrying out of works to Protected Structures. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report ( EIAR) and Natura Impact Statement ( NIS) have been prepared and submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.

The Planning Authority is informing the public that Clare County Council decided to grant permission for the above development on the 15th November 2019.

The applicant and any person who made submissions or observations in writing to the Planning Authority in relation to the planning application in accordance with Section 37(1) of the Planning Development Acts 2000 (as amended) may appeal such a decision to An Bord Pleanála. 

A person may question the validity of any decision of the planning authority by way of an application for judicial review, under Order 84 of the Rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. No. 15 of 1986), in accordance with Section 50. A person may question the validity of any decision on an appeal by the board by way of an application for judicial review, under Order 84 of the Rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. P18/930 - Application by TIGL Ireland Enterprises Ltd. 

Notice is hereby given pursuant of Part II, Amendment of Miscellaneous Enactments of S.I. No. 352 of EC (Public Participation) Regulations 2010Section 34(1A) of the Planning Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Section 172(1) of the Planning Development Act 2000 (as amended),that planning reference number P18/930 was required to have been accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report.

The application by TIGL Ireland Enterprises Ltd was for development including the construction of Ballroom/Function Room building; Leisure Facility building including restaurant; 53 no dwellings to be used for short term tourist accommodation; minor alterations to Doughmore house; a gatehouse; additional car parking and cycle parking. The development will also provide for the dismantling and removal of the existing Marquee structure, all associated ground works, ancillary works and enabling works and connection to existing services and facilities. The proposal will be developed on undeveloped lands previously part of planning permission P03/937 and associated permissions which have been part implemented, which provided for the construction of the existing Trump International Golf Links and Hotel and associated facilities. The development will be on a site of approx. 9.76 Ha (Circa 10Ha). This application is accompanied by a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) and an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR).

The Planning Authority is informing the public that Clare County Council decided to grant permission for the above development on the 9th October 2019.

The application by Bobby O’Connell & Sons Ltd was for development which will consist of quarrying an area consisting of 10 hectares located adjacent to the existing working quarry including extraction of rock by blasting means down to 150mOD; Extracted rock will be processed at the existing working quarry; Landscaping of the quarry during the operational phase and restoration of the quarry on completion of extraction; All associated ancillary facilities / works; The applicant is seeking a 16 year permission as part of the application. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report ( EIAR )

P16/1012 - Application by TIGL Ireland Enterprises Ltd.

Notice is hereby given pursuant of Part II, Amendment of Miscellaneous Enactments of S.I. No. 352 of EC (Public Participation) Regulations 2010Section 34(1A) of the Planning Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Section 172(1) of the Planning Development Act 2000 (as amended),that planning reference number P16/1012 was required to have been accompanied by an Environmental Impact Statement.

The application by TIGL Ireland Enterprises Ltd  was for development which will comprise of coastal erosion management works at, and adjacent to, Carrowmore Dunes, White Strand, Doughmore Bay and Trump International Golf Links and Hotel, Doonbeg, Co. Clare. The development includes the provision of two new protection structures at the dunes. The construction/development will include excavation of existing sand, the use of sheet piling backstops with soil nailing, geotextile underlay, armourstone protection to the sheet piles with sand and cobbles currently on the beach being used to form a dune profile over a distance of 609 metres (626m curved length with additional revetment overrun) approximately at the southern end of Doughmore Bay, adjacent to and west of the Trump International Golf Hotel. The works will be over a distance of 256 metres (257m curved length with additional revetment overrun) approximately at the northern end of Doughmore Bay, west of the golf course. The storage of the excavated sand on site as part of ongoing replenishment and future site management is also proposed. In a seaward-landward direction the overall extent of the revetment structure will be approximately 12 metres seaward of the existing general dune face with additional underlayers and engineering works. The final structure will be screened from view. Also included as part of the development are enabling works; ancillary construction works and compound; public car park; ongoing access to the beach throughout the construction programme and beyond. An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Natura Impact Statement (NIS) accompanied this planning application

The Planning Authority is informing the public that Clare County Council decided to grant permission for the above development on the 21st December 2017

The application by Brookfield Renewable Ireland Ltd was for the construction of a wind farm comprising 11 no. turbines with a maximum tip height of up to 131m and associated turbine foundations, hard standing areas and drainage, tree felling and replanting, 8 no. clear span stream crossings, upgrade of existing and provision of new site tracks and associated drainage, 3 no. borrow pits and 2 no. material storage areas and associated ancillary infrastructure, use of an existing access junction to the proposed development from the public road, all associated drainage, onsite electrical substation including two control buildings and welfare facilities, a wastewater holding tank, and groundwater well, fencing, and associated ancillary infrastructure, underground MV electrical cabling and associated communications cabling between the turbines and proposed onsite substation, underground HV electrical cabling and associated communications cabling between the proposed onsite substation and the permitted Slieve Callan substation (planning reference 13/558), temporary developments/works associated with the construction phase including 1 no. temporary construction site compound and associated ancillary infrastructure. A ten year planning permission is sought for this development. An Environment Impact Statement and a Natura Impact Statement accompanied this application.
