Proposed Traffic Calming Measures at Bothar na Luachra, Shannon

Notice is hereby given that Clare County Council, pursuant of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, proposes to install the following traffic calming measures:

  • Controlled pedestrian crossing on a raised table with ramps both sides at the junction of L-3300-0 , L7374-0  and L-3304-0, Bothar  na Luachra, Shannon, Co. Clare

It is proposed that the traffic calming will include for construction of kerbed build-outs and a controlled pedestrian crossing on a raised table with ramps both sides. Removal of the existing school warden road markings. Narrowing of the L-3300-0 Bothar na Luachra at this location.  Construction of dished kerbing, red tactile paving, all associated signs and road markings, belisha beacons and high friction surfacing. Alteration and removal of a section of existing ghost island.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme as shown on drawing number R-2017-28.13.2-001 will be available for inspection from Friday 7th July 2017 at the Offices of Clare County Council, Roads and Transportation Department, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis and the Shannon Municipal District Office of Clare County Council, Shannon, Co. Clare during office hours until Tuesday 8th August 2017.

Objections or representations in relation to the proposals may be made in writing before 4:00 p.m. on 8th August,  2017 to:
