Arts Office announces 2018 bursary programmes

Date issued: 16/04/18

The Arts Office of Clare County Council has announced three separate bursary programmes for artists, musicians and individuals involved in amateur dramatics.

Artists of all disciplines are invited to apply for a two week residential stay in the magnificent Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Co. Monaghan.

The Arts Office also is offering bursaries for young people to attend either of the residential summer courses run by the Irish Youth Choir which take place in the University of Limerick. Bursaries are open to young people who have been accepted onto the Irish Youth Choir or the Irish Youth Training Choir for younger singers.

Meanwhile, individuals involved in amateur dramatics in Clare are invited to apply for a bursary to attend the Drama League of Ireland’s Summer School, taking place in UL this summer.

According to Siobhan Mulcahy, Clare County Arts Officer, “The Arts Office of Clare County Council supports artists in a variety of ways annually. This year our bursary programme supports work by professional artists of all artistic disciplines, such as visual arts, theatre, literature and music, as well as supporting the vibrant voluntary amateur dramatic sector and young singers in the county.”

The closing date for all applications is Friday, May 4, 2018. Full details and application forms are available from the Arts Office at 065 6899091 or arts@clarelibrary.ie.
