National Tree Week

National Tree Week 2018 (4th – 11th March 2018)

To celebrate National Tree Week, Clare County Council in conjunction with the Tree Council of Ireland and Coillte are making young native trees available FREE to Community Groups for planting in public open spaces.

The group must undertake to plant these native trees in a suitable location, in its own locality during National Tree Week.  If you wish, please tag us on facebook and twitter on any events, including tree planting, you may have for tree week using #PromotingAGreenerClare

To express your interest in availing of these free native trees, groups should contact Mairead Griffin in the Environment Section of Clare County Council 065 6846386 by Friday 2nd, March 2018.   Number of trees available to groups will be based on overall demand.

Trees will be made available on a first come first serve basis at the Gardening Section, Cois na hAbhna on Monday, 5th and Tuesday, 6th March 2018 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It will be necessary to have a trailer to transport trees.
