Estate management

Clare County Council is committed to the ideal that tenants of the council and residents living near tenants of the council are able to enjoy living in their dwellings free from anti-social behaviour and from nuisance behaviour that detracts from quality of life.

The council has an estate management unit, who are available to meet with tenants and tenant associations on a regular basis to deal with issues that may occur. The estate management units acts as an effective liaison between the tenants in the estate and the various sections of the housing department and other departments in the council.

The objective of the estate management unit is to secure and improve communications with tenants and improve public relations at a local level. The council is committed to the encouragement and formation of residents groups within their housing estates. Estate management staff liaise with and assist resident groups with crime prevention and anti-social behaviour within their estate and encourages the continuing enhancement of the estate.

A Best Kept Local Authority Estate Competition is held annually to encourage residents and resident groups to take an active role in improving the physical appears of their estate. The main objective of the competition is to generate greater involvement of tenants in the management of local authority estates.

Should you live on an estate that has no resident group and you would like help in forming a group, please contact your local council who will be only too pleased to help.
