Date: 13/08/17 to 21/08/17

Location: Ennis Town, Ennis

Description:

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the world's greatest celebration of traditional Irish music, song and dance, will be hosted once again in Ennis and County Clare, under the auspices of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.  People travel from all parts of Ireland and overseas to compete at the highest standard, learn from the masters at Scoil Éigse, attend electrifying concerts and recitals, absorb cultural narratives and performances, join in impromptu street sessions and share in the fun and festivities.  It is a unique and welcoming nine day festival in venues with up to 2,000 seater capacity, while music resounds across the county town's quaint medieval streets.  The festival has a strong family appeal but reaches out to all lovers and would-be lovers of traditional music.  'The Fleadh down in Ennis', immortalised in the song by one of Clare's finest balladeers, the late Robbie McMahon, will see renowned traditional artists from home and abroad perform during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017, drawing thousands to savour the experience of a lifetime.
